Solitude on a Sunday Afternoon
Cool, nature, filtered air,
draws enriched blood,
of imbued capillaries,
of transfused serenity.
A gentle sun,
pleasant and friendly in disposition,
greets as I emerge from daylight shadows,
with a comforted embrace of a perfect day.
I come upon her from a distance, really
sitting in angelic white on the old pond dock,
legs crossed, absorbed book in-hand,
impressionistic to behold.
I hesitate in approach,
to disturb her moment, to greet her.
I marvel at her possibilities,
the scope of breadth, of touch.
Instead
I turn, head back,
to preserve my etched encounter on a canvas eternal.
