ABOUT ME
Welcome to the Yellow Brick Road Gallery. I live in Dallas, Texas where my passions range from art to attempting poetry. My creativity for paintings stems from many sources, in fact capturing my daughter of eight years is often a favorite subject.
My approach to art is to draw you as a participant in the painting at some emotional level, often capturing a moment in time or a reflective peace in this 24/7 world we race in today. When you view my art, I feel successful when you might say "... I love her expression " or ".... this reminds me from last summer's vacation". Art to me is not about modifying a subject matter endlessly in order to sell or popularize a style but rather each painting to me is a unique expressive experience. I try to capture my subject theme in an appealing painting style that can range from watercolor to impressionistic.
I have studied art for many years including college. I am a self-taught artist at heart sticking with conventions I have liked in other paintings..... hopefully blending into my personal style.
